This is most often seen in young individuals of less than 40 years of age. This syndrome is characterized by the pain and swelling of the joint between breastbone and ribs. Most commonly involved joints are 2nd and 3rd joints. The syndrome is seen in individuals who are having long standing cough, accident, unaccustomed strenuous activities like swimming, washing, cleaning of ceiling or high structures.
